Why did Hilti – Lean Futureskilling program win LCS Learning & Development Excellence Award?

Hilti’s Lean Futureskilling programme stood out for delivering world-class lean training to 2,000 logistics employees globally.

The initiative offered structured, LCS-certified learning across five levels, blending 70-20-10 experiential learning with mentoring, digital self-learning platforms, and practical on-the-job projects. Judges noted its structured global rollout, the creation of Lean Learning Camp and KaiNexus platforms, and the clear focus on engaging employees in continuous improvement. Tangible outcomes included 60% engagement, 40% certification rates, and CHF 14 million value creation in 2024, with projects improving productivity, customer experience, and operational efficiency. The Living Lean Award incentivised best practice adoption, further embedding a culture of improvement. Judges highlighted Hilti’s innovative integration of digital tools, mentorship, and globally scalable frameworks, praising the initiative for combining employee development with measurable operational impact, and for fostering a culture where continuous improvement is accessible to all.

"We’ve always believed that investing in people development pays off, and we’re seeing it in stronger business performance and higher engagement. Winning the LCS Learning & Development Excellence Award is a great validation of that belief and gives our program immense internal credibility for the years ahead. "
